I am a Chemist educated in México (Universidad Autónoma de Puebla) and at the present time, I am a graduate student at the Department of Chemistry, University of Pennsylvania in the area of Physical Chemistry.

My research interests include theoretical studies and modelling of solar-energy related phenomena such as the Bulk Photovoltaic Effect (BVPE) which arises from the lack of inversion symmetry in the materials crystal structure as well as computational design of new materials for efficient solar energy harvesting. I also have a strong interest in thermoelectric and semiconducting materials from both, theoretical and experimental perspectives, including the exploration of new properties / phenomena arising at the nanoscale.

My academic interests include teaching of Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics courses. I had been part of the organizing committee of the State Chemistry Olympiad in Puebla, México along with Dr. Juan Carlos Ramírez García (Chemistry olympiad blog) for a few years until I moved to the US for grad school. I have been a Teaching Assistant for various courses at the undergraduate level in the Department of Chemical Sciences BUAP and the Department of Chemistry - UPenn, including recitations and experimental laboratory sections.
